I’m a proud wife and mama to two boys, Blayne and Maks. I’m a passionate philanthropist, advocate for trauma survivors and fellow military caregivers, a special-needs mama, and (sometimes) love dogs more than humans! I traded my corporate career to become a caregiver for my family to ensure their mental and physical health.

In 2014, I founded SD Gunner Fund, a registered 501©3 nonprofit with a mission to provide a world-class service dog training and advocacy program to support military families, first responders, and children with disabilities. I founded this nonprofit after our family experienced first-hand the lack of support programs available for veterans. My husband, SGT Hamilton Kinard, was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) while serving in Iraq and suffered many traumatic injuries.

What I Do
I formed Britnee Kinard, LLC, in 2022, where I consult with and speak to companies and organizations nationwide to educate and inspire, showing how critical courage is to live a life of impact and purpose while raising awareness about military caregivers as well as how to turn trauma into triumph. In addition to speaking engagements, I offer programs to companies and organizations that feature business compliance, education, training, and resources on service dog laws, ADA service dog regulations, and HUD/FH service dog and emotional support animal laws.

I became a military caregiver at 29 years old. What I thought my life would look like came to a sudden halt. I was attempting to overcome and heal from a traumatic childhood. I was not prepared to cope with the burdens of caregiving, along with failure and tragedy. It was overwhelming. As a victim of trauma and a military caregiver, I advocate/educate and speak on how to turn your trauma into triumph.
